What Celebrating My Dreams Looks Like
You are living an incredible life.
You get to choose to read posts like this so that you can be the best version of yourself. By caring how you show up in the world, you are influencing your path in the world. By making these choices you're making the world a better place.
As children we tend to be much more connected to our intuition and what we want in this life.
As we get older we learn to doubt ourselves.
We’re taught to fear the unknown and that makes it much more challenging to enjoy life.
Much of what this blog is about is reframing your doubts, because when you’re overwhelmed with doubt and fear that's when indecision paralysis hits. Some doubt is healthy, it's good to ask questions, but when your doubt stops you from getting dressed in the morning that's not good. Journaling is a great way to reframe your doubts, which I teach in the Thoughtful Journaling Workshop.
There are some things in this life that I knew from a young age.
When I was little, I decided I wanted to live in Berkeley California which might sound like a crazy dream for a child, there was just something about the city that spoke to me and I knew I wanted to make it my home.
If you'd asked me why at the time, I likely would have said it seems cool, it feels right, or I don't know it's just what I want. There wasn’t a whole thought process, debate, or pros and cons list, I just knew that was what I wanted.
I felt it deep within my soul that that I wanted to live in Berkeley.
Fast forward to present day, I do live in Berkeley, California! I made my dream a reality when my husband and I bought a house here in 2009.
My childhood dream became my reality.
Sure there are a million and one things I could complain about, instead I choose to celebrate my dreams that I get to live here and now. I use journaling as my tool to process through the ickier thoughts, so that I can enjoy the things I have and make choices that feel aligned for me and what I want. (Shameless plug to join me for the Thoughtful Journaling Workshop so you can process through your ickier thoughts too.)
You get to choose how you see your life.
What are you choosing to see?
