My Imperfections are My Superpowers
“To accept ourselves as we are means to value our imperfections as much as our perfections.”
- Attributed to Sandra Bierig
Your imperfections are your superpowers.
I’ve been labeled:
Quiet
Shy
Too sensitive
With my superpowers:
I’m observant
I see things that other people miss
I show up with empathy
I can see when someone needs something (a hug, a smile, an understanding nod etc.) even when they don’t have the words to explain.
My superpowers make me a great yoga teacher because I notice the subtle changes when my students are getting tired or need a certain cue to help them find better alignment.
With my superpowers it’s easy to leave judgment at the door with my coaching clients because I’m not trying to compare myself to them, instead I listen and understand.
It’s easier for me to make deep connections with other humans because I can see past the superficial surface level. It’s magic when I see my energy reflected back in the other person.
I live for those moments of deeeeeeeep connection.
Journaling Prompt: What are your superpowers?
P.S. I wanted to circle back to the journaling prompt from May 22nd: What new habit do you want in your life? since it’s been two weeks. Did you start a new habit? Did your habit fall flat on its face or are you rocking it?! If you’re rockin it, I’m celebrating with you with a happy dance. If your habit fell flat on its face I’m here for you, send me a message and tell me where you feel stuck, so I can nudge (or kick) you in the right direction.
I want something different for next year. I’m not one for setting resolutions, I gave up on them years ago, I don’t really see the point of trying to make a change that won’t stick.
